The Pre-Owned Process
THE PRE-OWNED PROCESS

- Mechanical Inspection-The golf carts and utility vehicles are tested to ensure that they operate functionally, and a periodic maintenance and lubrication is performed. Any mechanical issues are identified and repaired prior to releasing the vehicles for sale. On electric golf carts and utility vehicles, a battery test sheet is performed to estimate the life expectancy of the batteries, and to determine if replacement is required. Golf carts and utility vehicles that have a limited battery life, but are completely functional, will typically not receive new batteries unless requested by the purchaser. For more detailed information on the items inspected view the Electric and Gas/Diesel Service Checklist located in the Service section of this site.
- Cosmetic Inspection-Golf carts and utility vehicles are inspected for damage or defects in the cosmetic components such as the body, canopy top, top struts, trim pieces, bumpers and seat covers. Major defects are repaired in order to get the vehicle in adequate condition for sale. All manufacturers' warranty repairs are made at this time. Some defects such as minor body scratches, dents or dings may remain; however, these golf carts and utility vehicles are usually sold to customers wishing to replace the body with a new or custom painted body.
- Customer Selection-Once the golf carts and utility vehicles are serviced and the necessary repairs are made; they are placed on the showroom floor and made available for sale. Some options and accessories may be added prior to offering the golf carts and utility vehicles for sale in order to provide a display as a floor-model. Customers typically will select a base-model vehicle by analyzing the price, specifications, options, etc., and proceed to the customization phase.
- Customization-With the exception of pre-owned golf carts and utility vehicles that are equipped with accessories as floor-models, the majority of vehicles we sell are built-to-order. The customer selects from a wide variety of options and accessories based on their particular application, vehicle requirements and personal taste. Available options can include tires, wheels, suspension, body color, windshields, dashes, enclosures, canopy tops, rear seats, cargo boxes, CD Players, electrical options, hunting accessories, etc. Our trained sales people work diligently with the customer to identify options that meet their requirements and vision.
- Prepping-After all of the options have been selected, we begin prepping the vehicle and installing the accessories. Our average prep-time is 2-7 business days. Prep-time can vary based on the number, type and availability of the options selected during the customization phase.
- Final Inspection-Once the prepping is completed our trained technicians test all of the additional equipment for functionality, and again check vehicle to ensure proper operation. Next, each vehicle is cleaned, detailed and a SportsTran logo is applied.
- Delivery or Pickup-After the Final Inspection has been completed, the vehicle is scheduled for delivery or the customer is notified that their vehicle is ready for pickup. At delivery or just prior to delivery, if the customer requests, the salesperson will provide complimentary general operational instructions to the customer to ensure optimum enjoyment and customer satisfaction.
